Experienced Patients are not medically trained or otherwise professionally qualified in health-related disciplines. They are not permitted to give advice, particularly medical advice, which may be defined as attempting to diagnose, treat or cure an illness or injury. They may only share information on their own experiences and provide moral support.
Patients should not construe anything which an Experienced Patient says or writes as advice, medical or otherwise. By making an appointment with an Experienced Patient, patients are expressly agreeing to this.
In learning to deal with long-term illness, it helps to talk to someone who understands what you are facing. But counselling provides more than a listening ear: it helps you work toward solutions, changing the things you can change to enable you to face the things you can't change with strength and confidence. As a person trained in pastoral care, particularly with older adults, I can help you learn to cope with the emotional and spiritual issues illness brings. I have spent over a decade as a carer for someone with serious CFS-ME, so I know first-hand what the illness can do, and what difficulties both the patient and his or her family, friends and carers face.
I offer both an email service for 'quick questions' and face-to-face conversations on Skype for patients (who may limit their time as their energy permits) and others (who may want to schedule a short session of 30 minutes, or a longer time, 45 minutes or an hour). Please book a week in advance, and indicate when would be best for you; other times may be possible.
I OFFER A FREE 15 MIN INTRO SESSION FOR ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE
“Putting patients directly in touch with Practitioners oriented towards a natural approach via skype, phone and email. We strive to remove barriers and empower patients to make their own choices giving them quick access to opinions and tests, all at the click of a button.”
